Autumn is a brilliant time to go for a stroll around your local area and see what you can find! It might be shiny conkers or crunchy leaves, helicopter seeds or spiky shells. Have a hunt on the ground and collect a variety of different natural items.
Once you get home you could organise your treasure into different groups - e.g. big/small, leaves/seeds etc
You could even create a piece of autumn artwork using the things you have found to make a collage.
There are also so many opportunities to practice using language to describe the natural objects - hard, soft, small, big, dry, wet etc
Have fun on your adventure!
We have bags available for filling with Autumn treasures with your child. Please feel welcome to take a bag from our porch area These are welcome to be bought back to nursery too for us to explore.
Thank you
