Christmas time

We are all so excited for the build up to Christmas and cannot wait for our special visit from Santa Claus.

Over the last few weeks we have participated in a variety of Christmas activities. The children especially enjoyed designing their own postbox ready to post our Christmas letters to Santa. Some children told an adult what they would like for Christmas and drew a special picture for Santa. Some children said "barbie house" "toy kitchen" "baby clothes" and were keen to share their ideas.

We practiced our fine motor skills and cut different patterns on Santa’s beard.

We decorated some cakes in a Christmas theme and enjoyed eating these at snack time.

We absolutely loved designing our very own Christmas tree. The children used a vareity of resources to make their design but mainly spent time using scissors to cut through string and stick colourful items to their tree. The children used their fine motor skills to practice their cutting skills and to pick up pom poms as well. This activity allowed plenty of discussion around Christmas as well and extended our other activities at nursery.

We all enjoyed Christmas baking for our take home Santa cookies

We ate a Christmas lunch cooked by our chef Zoe too

We can't wait for all the fun activities planned for the rest of the week too; especially our visit from Santa!
